Leadership Ohio Detailed Curriculum
Leadership Ohio was established in 1992 as a non-profit statewide educational program. It is the only immersion program designed to provide a statewide examination of the conditions and challenges that face our great state. The curriculum and session content are designed by a recognized group of professional educators, subject matter experts, Leadership Ohio Alumni, and selected leaders from business, industry, government, leadership programs locally and nationally. Through a series of eight 2-day sessions utilizing educational excursions, panel discussions, presentations, experiences and dialogue with fellow participants, the program explores the issues, challenges and opportunities facing Ohio.
Following a screening of the candidates by members of the Board of Trustees, the Class of 2009 will participate in their Opening Retreat in April. A creative approach is used as participants learn about program outcomes and expectations. A team approach enables participants to discover the talents and expertise each individual brings to the experience and identify strengths of the group. Advanced problem-solving techniques provide the Class with new tools to help meet the challenges of the Leadership Ohio program.
Each month class members travel to a different Ohio location for presentations by and discussions with local leaders, hearing from local experts on different views of a single issue, as well as gaining first-hand experience of Ohio’s natural beauty. Because of the quality of the program, state and nationally renowned experts often join local leaders to share their views with the Class. Outreach Leadership Ohio is a statewide leadership program dedicated to the education and support of leaders around the state. If you have or know of an opportunity or project that our members should know about, please email Kathy Rednour. |
