Leadership Ohio Announces Transition in Executive Leadership

October 7, 2025 – Columbus, OH. Leadership Ohio today announced that Lisa Duty, Ph.D. will step down as Executive Director effective October 31, following six years of transformational leadership. Since 2019, Dr. Duty guided Leadership Ohio through a strategic turnaround, elevating it as Ohio’s premier civic leadership organization. Her achievements include launching the Join In initiative, developing the Ohio Civic Health Index, and expanding Leadership Ohio’s alumni base, with one-third of graduates completing the organization’s signature fellowship program under her tenure. Her latest work “Bread and Salt” dinners have increased civic discourse, and the organization looks forward to carrying forward these programs that began under Lisa’s tenure.

Dr. Duty noted: “It’s been an honor to walk alongside this community of statewide leaders. I’m excited for new ventures while staying connected to the people who make Leadership Ohio special.”

The Board also announced that Shon Christy (Class of 2021) will serve as Interim Executive Director beginning November 1, ensuring continuity of programs and partnerships while the board conducts a search for the next executive director. Additionally, Stephanie McManus (Class of 2019) has been elected as Interim Board President.
