Among 37 outstanding leaders, we are pleased to announce that Ugochi Akoi, Director for State Support Team Region 11 at the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, is the Leadership Ohio "Leader Among Leaders" 2021.
“This award recognizes that even among the best of leaders there is a leader that stands out,” said Dr. Lisa Duty, Executive Director of Leadership Ohio. “It is a privilege to honor Ugochi and her commitment to building stronger communities and a stronger Ohio.”
The individual bestowed the Leader Among Leaders award is a member of the current year cohort and is been selected by the cohort for this distinguished honor. Selection of this individual is the current cohort’s declaration that this leader represents both the best of their cohort and their definition of a leader.
Furthermore, the selection is a statement that throughout the year the individual has demonstrated a commitment to:
Bringing and building positive energy through every interaction.
Serving and/or inspiring others.
Building value-added and productive connections amongst the cohort itself, and,
Demonstrating passion in making Ohio the best place to live and work.
Ugochi Akoi was nominated for the Class of 2021 by Dr. Sierra Austin, Leadership Ohio Class of 2020 and Ambassador 2021.
